About the Team
Tennessee's franchise, with roots in the AFL's original Houston Oilers dynasty.
Through the Years
Franchise History
Founded in 1960 in Houston as the Oilers — charter AFL franchise and winner of the league's first two championships behind George Blanda. The club relocated to Tennessee in 1997, adopted the Titans name in 1999, and reached Super Bowl XXXIV that same season, one yard short of a title.
