Franchise History
Founded in 1946 in the AAFC by coaching legend Paul Brown and joined the NFL in 1950, winning the title that first NFL season and again in 1954, 1955, and 1964 with Jim Brown, the greatest running back of his era. After the 1995 relocation to Baltimore, the franchise was deactivated for three seasons and restored in 1999 with its heritage intact.
