About the Team
Cincinnati's striped franchise, founded by coaching pioneer Paul Brown and a modern perennial AFC contender.
Through the Years
Franchise History
An AFL expansion team that began play in 1968, named for the city's earlier pro team. The Bengals reached Super Bowls in the 1981, 1988, and 2021 seasons — the first two behind Ken Anderson and Boomer Esiason — and the most recent behind Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase. The bold orange-and-black stripes are among football's most striking looks.
